What are the properties and grinding characteristics of ultra high strength steel?
High-strength steels are alloy steels that have high strength and high hardness and good toughness and plasticity. After quenching and tempering treatment, it has good comprehensive mechanical properties. When the tensile strength σb>1200 MPa, it is called high-strength steel. When the tensile strength 10,000 σb > 1500 MIa, it is called ultra high strength steel.

Ultra-high strength steel, depending on its alloy content, can be divided into low alloy (<6%) ultra high strength steel, medium alloy ultra high strength steel and high alloy ultra high strength steel. High-strength steel and ultra-high-strength steel containing an alloying element are chrome steel, nickel steel, manganese steel, and the like. Alloy steels containing two alloying elements include chrome-nickel steel, chrome-manganese steel, and chrome-molybdenum steel. Alloy steels containing three or more alloying elements include chromium manganese silicon steel, chromium nickel tungsten steel, chromium nickel molybdenum steel, chromium manganese titanium steel, chromium manganese molybdenum vanadium steel, and the like.
The original strength and hardness of high-strength steel and ultra-high-strength steel are not high, but after quenching and tempering, it can obtain high tensile strength of 1950MPa, hardness of HRC30~50, and fracture toughness greater than normalized 45 steel. The elongation is 3.5%~14%, the impact value is (22.6~88.3) J/cm?, the section shrinkage is 14%~52%, and the thermal conductivity is about half of 45 steel. (1) Large grinding force. Ultra-high-strength steel has tensile strength σb >1500MPa, high hardness, high friction and deformation resistance during grinding, large grinding force during grinding, and unit-width grinding force under the same grinding conditions. Cut about 45 times of 45 steel.
(2) The grinding temperature is high and it is easy to produce burns. Since the grinding force of ultra-high-strength steel is much larger than that of ordinary steel, more than 90% of the mechanical work consumed is converted into heat, and Ni, Mo, Si in ultra-high-strength steel, these alloying elements make the thermal conductivity of steel The number is significantly reduced, about 1/2 of the 45 steel (50.2w / m · K), so that the temperature of the grinding zone is not easy to pass, and the grinding temperature of the grinding ultra-high strength steel is high, it is easy to produce Grinding burns.
(3) Grinding surface work hardening. According to the performance of ultra-high strength steel, not only the hardness is high, the strength is high, and it has good toughness and plasticity. During grinding, the surface of the workpiece is greatly deformed under the friction and extrusion of the abrasive grains of the grinding wheel, and the crystal lattice of the deformation zone is severely distorted, so that the grinding surface and the ground surface are hardened, and the depth of the hardened layer can reach (0.01). ~0.02)mm.
